Students were given the task to “name a color.” I encouraged them to think about advertising and the paint companies that name their paint colors. Students were to create and name a color based on something that they liked to or their personalities. Students used sharpie and watercolors.
Sixth and seventh graders have been exploring oil pastel techniques as they learned about Impressionism. Students were inspired by the artist, Berthe Morisot as they created their oil pastel bouquets.
This is one of my all time favorite lessons! Students learned about the South Korean ceramicist, Jae Yong Kim. The artist inspired RMS 6th and 7th graders to try making their own donuts out of clay. We even used real sprinkles after we painted our donuts. Yum! They look so real!
