Ohio Department of Education announces 2024 Purple Star Designations

April was first designated as the Month of the Military Child by the United States Department of Defense in 1986 to increase public knowledge and understanding of the issues surrounding children who have parents in the military.  The announcement of the Purple Star Class of 2024 is part of Ohio's participation in the national celebration of the Month of the Military Child.

Congratulations Bremen Elementary and Pleasantville Elementary for earning the Purple Star Award.

What are you learning this summer?

Fairfield Union has compiled a list of 2024 summer camps and programs for students in grades K-12.  There is a wide variety of options from all over the state of Ohio. We hope this list encourages all students to attend camp and extend their learning. Read on for links and information. . .

Kids Heart Challenge Update

The 2024 Kids Heart Challenges at Bremen and Pleasantville Elementary have both completed another successful year of collecting donations.  All students jumped in their PE class to help their own hearts.  They also learned about Hands-Only CPR, AED’s, and what to do if an emergency situation occurs.

Thank you to all the families and friends who have helped support the Kids Heart Challenge.  It is awesome to see our small schools have such a large impact on helping the American Heart Association continue their research.

Global School Play Day 2024

Students of Bremen Elementary School recently participated in Global School Play Day.  This day is observed every year in February.  Global School Play Day promotes the importance of regular, unstructured play.  Students played outside, built with blocks, and enjoyed board games with classmates.

Mrs. Neal's first graders have been studying insects.  Students read the Ant and the Grasshopper then created their own insect.  These insects can do some pretty cool things.  Some can dance on a log, play basketball and sing pretty.
